Dell introduced a refreshed line of its Vostro 3000 notebooks for small business users March 17. Available in four sizes, these Dell PCs feature Intel second-generation "Sandy Bridge" processors, Microsoft Windows 7 and collaboration tools, such as Webcams, preinstalled conferencing software and—exclusively—SRS Premium Voice Pro software, which reduces ambient noise to improve call quality. Security features include the option of a fingerprint reader, and users at small and midsize businesses, which tend not to have full-time IT staff, can choose their own level of support with Dell's optional Dell ProSupport. The same day, Dell also announced the Vostro 330, a 23-inch all-in-one PC, starting at $699 or $899, with a touch-screen option. In addition, Dell released a new line of Inspiron notebooks, which are rich in media features and also run the Sandy Bridge processors. While Dell was affected by the fault in the processors’ "Cougar Point" chipset, a Dell spokesperson said it was actually "a really good story for us." Dell was able to quickly relaunch, which was a testament, she said, to Dell's "great partnership with Intel and ability to react fast."

The Inspiron R notebooks feature a black cover that can pop off and be replaced by other options. "Users like personalization," said a Dell spokesperson, and the covers keep the notebooks feeling fresh.

The Switch covers come in three solid colors and 22 more graphic options, and start at $40.
Dell Vostro 330
The Dell Vostro 330 features a 23-inch display with the option for a touch-screen and smudge-free coating. Dell designed it to look good even from the back, should a client be sitting across the desk from you. For longer-distance relationships, there's also a Webcam with facial-recognition software as an optional security feature. It starts at $699, or at $899 with the touch-screen option.
